About Us

MultiMarathon is all about bringing a community together for a common cause.

MultiMarathon help those in need when natural disasters affect a community or individual, such as fire, flood, cyclone, earthquake etc by raising money, equipment, food, water and labour. In order to help those people that has lost everything bY organizing marathons for runners all over Australia. This allows not only experienced runners but also the recreational runner to participate in an event to help those who need it most.

Luckily for most Australians major natural disasters are not a common occurrence in Australia, even though it appears to be on the increase over the last few years. So MultiMarathon has also chosen to help other charities raise money for their various causes by holding a major event in September of each year. This event is called the “Simpson Desert MultiMarathon” 15 marathons in 15 days for 15 charities running across the Simpson Desert.

The experts said to run 15 marathons in 15 days was impossible, however one man proved them wrong, his name is Barry Golding, President of MulitMarathon. In 2010 he became the first man ever to complete 15 marathons in 15 days across the Simpson Desert raising money for breast cancer research. Just like so many kids today prove that with help and support from the friends, family, support groups and charities they succeed in their endeavour to get well and in some cases are the strength of the family unit proving that the impossible is possible. With that Barry decided to encourage others to run across the desert to help charities by running extreme marathons.

If you’re a Ultra Marathon runner, extreme marathon runner or a marathon runner why not join MultiMarathon and help others that need our support.
